The place for sporting types to be at in Sherburne County this summer is at Pebble Creek Golf Course.
The course will host a plethora of happenings throughout the warm months, with events open to golfers of all skill levels, as well as some refreshing new ways to get out on the links.
FootGolf
FootGolf® is a new hybrid game of golf and soccer. It uses the golf course landscape, but players kick a soccer ball — all played on the golf course’s Local 9.
Play begins when one “tees off” from the normal teeing grounds and then proceeds to kick the ball down the fairway.
As one approaches the green, there’s a special orange flag just short of the green. This flag marks the 22″ hole to kick the ball in. It’s dug into the ground like a normal cup on the green.
FootGolf is a fun way for adults, kids and families to get out and enjoy a day on the links. If needed, the pro shop has soccer balls for rental.
To make a tee time, just call the golf shop as normal and ask for a tee time on the Local 9 to play FootGolf. Stop in at the pro shop when checking in and an associate will get each player set up. Spikes are not allowed on the course, only turf shoes or tennis shoes may be worn to play.
The course will have 18 holes available by the end of next month.
Rates for FootGolf are $5 for kids under 16 years old and $10 for anybody over 16. Soccer ball rental is $5.
FlingGolf
FlingGolf® is a hybrid sport between lacrosse and golf. Players only need a few golf balls and a Fling Stick to play. No reason for carrying that heavy bag around anymore, just a few balls in your pocket and the Fling Stick and you’re all set.
FlingGolf is an exciting new sport that is played on a golf course — with a golf ball — alongside regular golfers and scored the same way as golf. Most people can start playing within a few minutes and quickly become proficient using their own flinging (throwing) techniques. Players use the same tee boxes, same greens and cups as normal golf — one just advances the ball in a slightly different manner.
It’s easy to learn for kids and adults and it’s a great way to get out on the course and spend some time with ones family. Cost is only $5 for juniors under the age of 16 and $10 for everybody else. Fling sticks are available for rent as well at $5.
Start watching your email for a FlingGolf demo day to be scheduled in June on the driving range. If you haven’t already, go to www.pebblecreekgolf.com and sign up for the email newsletter.
Masters Club
Pebble Creek offers a rewards program that allows players to get free golf.
The club features no monthly dues, no expensive fees and no surprises or long term commitments – just a simple way to help one improve their game and save money.
“Both personally and on behalf of Pebble Creek, we are thrilled to introduce this incredible opportunity,” said Head Golf Professional Troy Malo. “Golfers throughout Becker are calling it ‘the best golf deal in town’.”
The highlights of the club are 20% off every time one plays, free golf when one signs up, free golf on ones’ birthday, free golf when one brings three friends to play, 15% off items in the pro shop and much more.
Go to the Pebble Creek website (www.pebblecreekgolf.com) and click, “get free golf”.
This is a limited opportunity. Malo wasn’t willing to “spill the beans” on when it will no longer be offered.
Men’s Club
The Men’s Club is designed to provide a fun, yet competitive golf league that caters to all skill levels.
Registration is open to the public and is offered on a first-come-first-serve basis. The club is always looking to grow their roster.
Cost is $80 and is broken down into handicap registration, prize money and the spring and year-end banquets.
Each week, the golf shop has a sign-up sheet for players to sign up a group/team. Formats vary from individual, two person and four person teams. The men’s club has one pick their own partner or team each week in the 18-hole league and most weekends.
For more information about the Men’s Club, contact Men’s Club President Jason Rykal at j.rykal@yahoo.com or 612-799-0615.
Women’s Club
The women’s club’s mission is to promote the general interests of golf for the members of the Pebble Creek Women’s Club and provide an atmosphere for both social and competitive play.
Both 9-hole and 18-hole groups are available for Women’s Club members every Tuesday. They also feature the Ringer Board, the Birdie and Par Tree plus singles and doubles match play competition.
Cost is $70 for a basic membership or $126 for a basic membership and prepaid weekly events. The league begins play in mid-May and concludes in the fall with a banquet in September.

Bar and Grill is Open
Pebble Creek no longer has a vendor providing the food and beverage service, so it is now being handled by Pebble Creek staff. The grill is open and serving a variety of items including appetizers, burgers and chicken sandwiches, grilled sandwiches, salads, pizzas and even a few items for the kids.
They also have a great selection of beer, many of the finest liquors and even a great selection of house wine.
Events and Banquets
Pebble Creek is a great venue to host that next birthday party, anniversary celebration, wedding — even an outdoor ceremony. There is options for hosted bar service, outside tents and the facility can accommodate any menu with one of their four preferred caterers. If your menu isn’t too complex, they can take care of all your needs in-house.
