Chaos returns to Clearwater

Clearwater was once again the scene of chaos as the Silver Bullet Saddle Club (SBSC) brought ‘Chaos in Clearwater Demolition Derby’ back to their rodeo grounds for the second year.

Both of the two day events kicked off with the Children’s Power Wheels Derby. Free for participants, the event was open to kids three to 10 years old. Outfitted with helmets and driving derby decorated ‘cars’, the kids had a great time ‘smashing’ into one another.

Each evening of the derby featured a variety of vehicle classes, including mighty minis, compact chain, trucks, and limited weld compacts. Friday’s main class was 80’s stock, limited weld old/80’s were featured Saturday.

Along with the derby itself, another exciting event Saturday evening was the chance to drive in the 80’s chain car class. Those without a demo car who dreamt of participating in the derby had the chance to make their dream come true by having their name drawn from the raffle tickets sold beforehand.

Each day plenty of food and beverages were available for attendees looking for refreshments, including cold beer at the Clearwater Lions’ beer garden.

Saturday night the chaos continued long into the evening, with entertainment provided by the rock band Lipstick-n-Dynamite at the conclusion of that night’s derby.

SBSC expressed thanks to the community, attendees, and sponsors for another successful event.
