There was pandemonium at the Silver Bullet Saddle Club Rodeo Grounds in Clearwater last Saturday evening as the first ever Chaos in Clearwater Demolition Derby came to town to entertain the crowds and participants alike.
The derby kicked off at 6 p.m. with the Children’s Power Wheels Derby. Free for participants, the event was open to kids three to 10 years old. Outfitted with helmets and driving derby decorated ‘cars’, the kids had a great time. Trophies were provided by Full Throttle Promotions.
Along with the derby itself, another of the exciting events of the evening was the chance to drive in the 80’s chain car class. Those who could only dream of participating due to not having a demo car to drive were able to purchase raffle tickets for the chance to make that dream come true. SBSC provided the demo car for the lucky winner.
Other raffle prizes were $1,000 cash for second place and a gift card basket for third.
Along with the 80’s chain car, the demo derby classes included limited weld trucks and two man extreme mini vans; the stock weld cars class was featured as the main event. Cash prizes were awarded.
Chaos continued into the evening, with the crowd sharing its enthusiasm for the events with shouts and loud cheers. At its conclusion, Radio Nation continued the night’s entertainment with rock and country music.
SBSC expressed thanks to the community, attendees, and event sponsors; Clearwater Parts City, Imholte Excavation, JSA Services, Larry Carlson Trucking, Lawn Rangers, Schendzielos Excavating, and Ziegler. Thanks was also extended to the sponsors of the raffle car; builders Eli Hickman and Kyle Bahl, DesMarais Trucking, JSA Services, Larry Carlson Trucking, Lawn Rangers, NFA Customs, and Three of a Kind.
