Centra Care Hospital Celebrates 1st Birthday

CentraCare-Monticello is celebrating its first year of service in the Big Lake Monticello area. More services than ever are being offered at the hospital.

The newly refurbished and updated Birth Center opened last month, along with Level II Nursery services. All the local physicians who formerly used the Birth Center are referring patients there again. The sleep center has also re-opened.

Surgical services have been expanded and are now available 24 hours per day, seven days per week. General SurgeonsAdrianne Bowen, MD, FACS, and Kourtney Kemp, MD, perform surgery and see patients at  CentraCare Health–Monticello and Monticello Medical Group and the Monticello Clinic.

Patients in the hospital can relax to the soothing sights and sounds of the C.A.R.E. Channel, a therapeutic tool that reduces anxiety, alleviates pain, assists with sleep and restfulness. With a distinct day and night format, the program supports circadian rhythms and promotes an optimum healing environment and assists with rest and sleep.

While patients are in the hospital, they will be seen by doctors who specialize in treating hospitalized patients. The hospitalists are local physicians dedicated to ensuring patients receive consistent, state-of- the-art medical care.

Patients suffering from a stroke will also receive faster diagnosis and treatment thanks to Telestroke, a new system which allows vascular neurologists in St. Cloud to consult with a patient virtually face-to-face, 24-hours per day, seven days per week.

This system provides a way for patients to receive a timely diagnosis for acute stroke conditions and helps to support a more detailed treatment plan and positive outcomes. Quick intervention and rehabilitation  help speed the patient’s recovery.

A healing garden has been planted next to the Monticello Cancer Treatment Center for the benefit of patients and staff. The garden reflects a more holistic approach to wellness and is designed to calm the nerves and soothe the spirit.
