Bryce Roelike will be holding his annual “Cancer Sucks” garage sale the weekend of June 1, 2 and 3. It again will be held at the Becker Legion (old fire department) off Hancock St.
Over the last few years, 10-year-old Bryce has devoted his time and talents to holding a special garage sale for all the people in his life who have been affected by cancer, including his mom, his aunt and most recently his grandmother, Donna, who passed away from lung cancer April 20. She was a three-time cancer survivor
Bryce’s garage sales have been a huge benefit to the cancer society and the money he has taken in, usually gets matched by a very generous business or individual.
His first year, Bryce tallied his sales along with further donations which brought the total to $4,150. All the proceeds went directly to the local American Cancer Society Relay for Life fundraising organization.
Last year, Bryce raised $4,001, getting big donations from the Monticello VFW and the Men’s and Women’s Auxiliaries.
Bryce’s sale this year will open each day at 8 a.m. and close whenever things slow down later in the day. The Legion address is 12155 Hancock St.
Bryce Roelike is the son of Tim and Kelli Martin of Becker.
“Please come and show your support for such a wonderful cause,” Kelli said.
