BRYCE ROELIKE has raised over $15,000 from his annual garage sales for cancer research.

Bryce Holding His Fourth Annual Cancer Sucks Garage Sale

By Bill Morgan, Staff Writer

Bryce Roelike will be holding his annual “Cancer Sucks” garage sale the weekend of June 1, 2 and 3. It’s his fourth year and it again will be held at the Becker Legion (old fire department) off Hancock St.

The start time each day is 8:30 a.m. and will run all day until the crowds wane.

Eleven--year-old Bryce has devoted his time and talents over the years to present a special garage sale for all the people in his life who have been affected by cancer, including his mom, his aunt and most recently his grandmother, Donna, who passed away from lung cancer April 20 of 2017. She was a three-time cancer survivor.

Bryce’s garage sales have been a huge benefit to the cancer society. He has raised over $15,000 and every year someone, some business or some organization usually matches the total.

His first year, Bryce tallied his sales along with further donations which brought the total to $4,150. All the proceeds went directly to the local American Cancer Society Relay for Life fundraising organization.

Two years ago, Bryce raised $4,001, getting big donations from the Monticello VFW and the Men’s and Women’s Auxiliaries.

Bryce’s sale last year brought in well over $4,500.

Bryce Roelike is the son of Tim and Kelli Martin of Becker.

“We hope to have an amazing outcome like the past years,” Kelli said.
