A man from St. Cloud — formerly of South Haven — was found in the ditch Sunday afternoon along Hwy. 10 between Clear Lake and St. Cloud.
The Sherburne County Sheriff's Office says Michael K. Maurer's body was discovered by a passerby at the intersection of Hwy. 10 and Co. R.d 61 at 2:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon in Haven Twp.
Investigators say there were no obvious signs of trauma on the 29-year-old's body and foul play is not suspected. The Midwest Medical Examiner's Office is working on toxicology tests to determine Maurer's cause of death.
The investigation is ongoing.

Michael K. Maurer, Jr. was born Dec. 26, 1988 in South Haven. He was home schooled and received his GED in 2005. Michael resided in St. Cloud and had been employed as a manager at fast food restaurants. He was involved in the LGBT community and enjoyed singing, dancing, arts and crafts. Michael also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
