Bms Students Perform Holiday Concert

The Becker Middle School bands performed a winter concert for family and friends December 13, their first concert of the school year. Directed by Band Director Shelly Clemen, many of the songs were holiday themed to coincide with the spirit of the season.

The sixth-graders kicked off the concert with their “A Winter Celebration with Beginning Band” program. One hundred fifty-six students strong, the band played a number of selections, including Jingle Bells, A Winter Medley and Beethoven’s Ninth.

Next up the seventh-grade band, consisting of 130 members, also played a number of songs, including A Christmas Proclamation, A Holly Jolly Christmas and Christmas Encore.

The concert concluded with selections from the 119 member eighth-grade band, whose pieces included The Star Spangled Banner, As Eagles Soar and Carol of the Kings.

The audience showed their appreciation for the students’ hard work with hearty applause, many commenting on how great they were already sounding for so early in the school year.
