BL School Board finalizes 24-25 budget, looks ahead to 25-26

During the June Big Lake School Board meeting, Business Director Angie Manuel gave the final financial report for the school year. The district ended the school year over their expected enrollment amount, which is good for the school since it brings in more funding.

Manuel asked the board to approve a budget revision to reflect some large medical assistance payments the district received as well as prom donations.

Manuel explained the significance of a new K-12 education finance bill and how it would affect budgets for the upcoming school year. She then presented the budget for the upcoming school year with that information in mind.

Food Shelf

Superintendent Tim Truebenbach reported he has been working with the food shelf and the school attorney on an agreement to host food shelf services. An agreement should appear before the board at the July meeting.

In Other Business, the Board:

• Signed an agreement to participate in MSHSL sports for the upcoming year;

• Heard about the field trips students took over the past year, which were funded by the PTO and Spud Fest donations;

• Heard committee updates.
