Last weekend, Big Lake held its first winter farmers’ market of the season. Lots of vendors came to city hall with lots of winter produce, including squash, honey, barbeque sauce, Christmas cookies, and a mini donut truck.
This was the first winter farmers’ market of the season. The event was set to begin in November, but the farmers’ market staff was exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19, and didn’t want to risk spreading the disease to patrons or vendors.
Only a limited number of people were allowed inside the building at any given time, and all were asked to wear masks and distance themselves.
The farmers’ market will be held on the third Saturday of each month at city hall through April 17. The next one will be held Jan. 16.
