Big Lake announces police chief finalists

This week, the City of Big Lake announced their three finalists for the Big Lake Police Chief position. As of yet, the council has not set a date when it will announce its decision, but, according to Interim City Administrator Hanna Klimmek, the council will discuss the situation during their next regularly scheduled workshop meeting, July 13, 5 p.m.

The following are the profiles of the three finalists, in alphabetical order. 

Kenneth Dvorak

Sgt. Kenneth Dvorak earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the California State University, and his Master’s Degree in Business Administration/Accounting from the University of Phoenix. He has served in numerous capacities in law enforcement, including: Deputy Sheriff at the San Bernadino, CA, sheriff’s office (1995-2003); Law Enforcement Senior Advisor for the U.S, Department of State in Fort Worth, TX (2004-2005); Deputy Sheriff for the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office (2006-2008); and Sgt. at the Scott Co. Sheriff’s Office (2008-present.) He also served as the Vice President of Dvorak Accounting in New Prague from 2003-2006. 

Timothy Jeanetta

Sgt. Timothy Jeanetta earned his Associate of Arts Degree from North Hennepin Community College in Brooklyn Park. He has served in several capacities as a law enforcement officer, including: Patrol Deputy (1995-2001); Emergency Response Unit Member (1996-2003); Investigator School Liaison (2001-2002); General Investigator (2001-2005); Narcotics K-9 Handler (1999-2008); Investigative Narcotics Sergeant (2005-2008); Field Training Officer (1998-2022); Investigative CID Sergeant (2008-2022); and Patrol Sergeant (2021-2022). All of these positions were held with the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office.

John Kaczmarek

Captain John Kaczmarek received his Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement and his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul. He has served in several capacities within law enforcement, including: Community Service Officer (2006-2008); Patrol Officer (2008-2012); Field Training Officer (2010-2011); Investigator (2012-2014); West Metro SWAT Operator (2013-2020); Patrol Sergeant (2014-2020); and Police Captain, Investigations Division (2020-present). All of these positions were held at the Robbinsdale Police Department.
