Big Eagle Lake to hold 4th of July Watercraft Parade

The Big Eagle Lake Improvement Association (BELIA) is holding their annual Big Eagle Lake 4th of July Watercraft Parade on Monday!

All watercraft are invited to participate. Join the group at the boat landing/public access on the 4th of July around 12:45 p.m. to line up. No order needed, just fall in line. The group will leave the public dock at 1 p.m. and follow the lead watercraft as they circle completely around Big Eagle Lake coming back to the public access. Folks can join in the celebration of this nation’s liberties from their docks to cheer the parade boats as they come around the lake.

Grab those flags and keep ‘em flying high!

For those who join the parade and want to compete for the amazing Traveling Trophy, here is how to do it! With the group’s windy experience last year, the BELIA is going to switch things up this year. They encourage all to have their boat, pontoon, jet ski, kayak, or canoe decorated up. Then they are asked to submit three (3) pictures from different angles to bigeaglelakeboard@gmail.com by 1 p.m., July 4th.

Anyone can join the parade, but only the participants who send the BELIA photos will be considered for the Traveling Trophy.

Be noticeable, grab attention, be remembered, and keep it fun!

The submission requires a name and contact information, and if the craft has a theme/name along with photos. Who knows, you could be the winner!

This year, the boat parade judges are (drum roll)...YOU!! Everyone is invited to participate in the judging. Organizers will send out a link to a survey for everyone to pick the winner. The winner will be announced via email, on the website, and Facebook.

Enjoy the 4th!
