BHS to host combined Holiday concert

Music aficionados should circle Monday, December 19 on the calendar, as Becker High School will be presenting a combined Holiday concert, with performances from both the Band and Choir programs.

“We will start and end the concert with combined music and there will be refreshments served after the concert is over in the HS Commons sponsored by Dr. Eron Bordson and Clearwater Family Chiropractic,” BHS Band Director Craig Vogl says.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. and will be held in the Performing Arts Center.

Performing groups will include: Acapella group, ninth grade choir handbell choir, ninth grade band carol groups, Concert Choir, Concert Band, Bella Voce Choir, Wind Ensemble and Chamber Choir.

In addition to the free concert, the music programs will be conducting a drive to benefit the Becker High School Food Shelf.

“Free will donations will be accepted and all proceeds will be donated to the Becker HS Food Shelf to help students and families within the Becker school community,” Vogl added.

BHS Choral Director Gretchen Bordson said the students are excited about performing in front of what figures to be a robust crowd.  She is hoping many members of the community come to hear the incredible music.

“Please join us as our student musicians can’t wait to share their love of music with all of you during this holiday season,” Bordson says.

Vogl reiterated that the entire community is invited to the program.

“You don’t need to have a student in the band or choir to attend this show,” Vogl reminded. “This concert will be something that the entire community will enjoy, and all of the proceeds go to support local families who might need support during this season.”
