Bhs Students Celebrate We Day At Xcel

Becker High School National Honor Society students spent the day at WE Day at Xcel Energy Center Tuesday.

WE Day celebrates youth for making a difference in their local and global communities. It strives to give young people the tools to create transformational social change and to empower them to transform their lives.

WE Day has evolved from a single event nearly eight years ago into a series of 14 stadium-sized events across Canada, the United States and the UK. This past year, 200,000 students attended WE Day and left inspired to create change at local and global levels.

Tuesday’s WE Day featured inspirational speakers and performers including Buzz Aldrin, Paula Abdul, George Takei, Jordan Smith, Sabrina Carpenter and other celebrities as well as local area high school students who have inspired local or global change. Students at We Day hear extraordinary stories of leadership and change.

WE Day is a free event for those who have volunteered in their community through events such as WE Scare Hunger, which is BHS's chapter that NHS participates in every Halloween. Look for the NHS students during Halloween holiday collecting food for the local food shelf.
