Bhs Goes ‘Back To The 80s’

It was a night of fun and nostalgia at Becker Schools’ Performing Arts Center Monday night, as the high school choirs held their 15th annual spring show, Back to the 80s, for family and friends.

Directed by Vocal Music Teacher Gretchen Bordson and emceed by Grace Klapak and Lauren Johnson, choir students performed popular rock and pop selections from the 80s decade for the enjoyment of the audience, many of whom were tapping their feet and humming along to the well-known songs.

The show’s energy was felt from the opening numbers to the finale, with featured selections by the ladies of the 80s, guys rocking the 80s, and the acapella group, as well as solos by a number of the choir members.

The choirs were accompanied by Craig Vogl on drums, Nick Hillyer on guitar and Aaron Seitz on bass. Clearwater Chiropractic was thanked for donating food and water, as was Mike Tauer for providing subway sandwiches for the choir members.

Two performances were held in order to accommodate everyone who wanted to attend the show.

The annual spring shows are also fundraisers for the choirs, and have helped provide items such as an upright piano for the choir room, a keyboard, choir scholarships and senior gifts, uniforms for the Bella Voce and Chamber Choirs and more.
