Better latte than never: Ember Coffee opens

Last Thursday, the owners of Ember Coffee in Big Lake held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to christen their new business of selling coffee and goodies right along Hwy. 10.

Matthew and Elise Berry had a grand opening Friday, April 22 at their location at 450 Jefferson Blvd. in the heart of Big Lake. Their store is on the south side of the purple and blue two-story building.

They are open from Monday thru Saturday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Not only does Ember Coffee serve a great brewed cup of java, they also sell travel tumblers, Ember mugs, stickers and much more. They also have yummy pastries and even ice cream.

At some point in the near future, Ember Coffee will also offer sandwiches and other lunch items in the cafe, and they are excited to soon feature a welcoming location and workplace for today’s entrepreneur, small business operator, and freelancer.

According to their website:

“Our mission is to turn strangers into friends, serve the best coffee anywhere, and be a place that cultivates creativity and good works.   We are more than a coffee shop - we are a community on a mission, passionate about bringing beauty to every corner of our city.”

Another motto they stand by:

“We don’t serve coffee, we serve people.”

There’s no filtering that.
