The library will host the Becker Book Club for adults Mon., Oct. 12 at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will discuss “Rooftops of Tehran” by Mahbod Seraji. The book is a coming-of-age story set during the 1970s when the Shah of Iran ruled and commanded a secret police that stamped out opposition. The library’s Teen Book Club will meet and discuss “Dreadful Sorry” by Kathryn Reiss Mon., Oct. 12, from 7-8 p.m. The book is a psychological mystery about a high school girl who has memories and nightmares that belong to a girl who disappeared 80 years ago. Contact the library for more information about joining the teen book club.
Teens ages 13 to 18 are invited to celebrate Teen Read Week by attending a Book-to-Movie event at the library Thurs., Oct. 15 from 6 - 8p.m. Information about the book/movie title is available at the staff desk, and snacks will be provided by the Friends of the Becker Library.
