Over 40 speakers greeted Becker Middle School students Tuesday afternoon for the annual career day event.
“Career day is an important event for our students because it provides an opportunity for them to be exposed to many different possibilities for their future,” said BMS Principal Chantel Boyer. “We had a great slate of speakers representing many different careers, including the military and the trades.”
Students were able to select four different sessions, with speakers sharing educational requirements for their professions, as well as an explanation of what a day might look like for an employee in that field.
Some of the career paths represented by the speakers included engineers, architects, law enforcement, entrepreneurs, real estate, marketing and sales, military, health care and the building trades.
“We had an excellent variety of speakers this year from a very diverse set of professions,” Assistant BMS Principal Ted Aleckson said. “As always, we are grateful for the individuals and businesses who lend their time and talents to this important career exploration activity.”
