(Editor’s Note: The following article was submitted to the Patriot by the Becker PD).

On June 6 at approximately 5:33 p.m., Officers with the Becker Police Dept. were dispatched to a residence on the 10000 block of 14th Ave SE regarding a domestic situation.

Officers responding to the location were advised of a female indicating that she had heard a gunshot inside the residence. Upon arrival, officers were advised that the male party had already left the scene. Officers discovered that he had discharged a weapon multiple times within the residence.

A Becker Officer intercepted the vehicle with the suspect male near Edgewood Street/Woodland Court in Becker. The male was then taken into custody without incident. The male was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital for a mental health evaluation. Investigation revealed that there had been no threats to the female or other persons during the incident.

The Becker Police Dept. was assisted by the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office.

The Becker Police Dept. advises there is no concern for public safety and the situation has been resolved. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Becker Police Dept. at 763-200-4267.
