Becker Man Hits Snowplow After Falling Asleep

The Minnesota State Patrol is investigation a crash involving a DOT vehicle and a van Wednesday morning near Barnsville.  
 
A 54-year-old Becker man was taken to the hospital Wednesday morning after authorities say he fell asleep at the wheel and hit a snowplow driven by Todd Meyer, 51.
 
The State Patrol says  Robert Elkin of Becker was driving a 2003 Ford van east on I-94 near Barnsville when he fell asleep and rear-ended a MnDOT snowplow in Clay County.
 
Elkin was taken by ambulance to Fargo Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Meyer wasn’t hurt in the incident.
 
The crash happened just before 7 a.m. Road conditions were described as icy at the time of the incident.
