On the evening of Oct. 29, 2023, officers of the Becker Police Dept. received a tip of a person said to be in possession of a handgun while being a convicted felon. An investigation revealed that the suspect was a confirmed convicted felon.
Officers observed the suspect driving in the City of Becker on Oct. 29 at approximately 6:30 p.m. The suspect was stopped and the vehicle was ultimately searched. Recovered from the vehicle was an extended, loaded magazine for a handgun. A search warrant was completed for the vehicle the suspect was located in, as well as an additional vehicle he had been driving earlier. Located in the additional vehicle was a loaded Glock 10 mm handgun along with additional magazines and ammunition. Two baggies of a white substance was also located weighing, in total, approximately 74 grams. The white substance field tested positive for cocaine.
The suspect is identified as James Arthur Warren (46) of Becker.
An additional search warrant was conducted on Oct. 30, 2023 at a residence in the 14000 block of Central Ave, Becker. Officers located an additional Glock 9mm handgun along with hundreds of rounds of various ammunition.
Warren was transported to the Sherburne County Jail pending charges of Felon in Possession of a Firearm and 1st Degree Controlled Substance Possession.
