Becker looking for feedback on Framework 2030 project

Becker City and Twp. staff held a Framework 2030 event Thursday at City Hall to garner feedback on the developing vision, strategic commitments, and objectives of the project. It was held in-person and online through midnight on Thursday.

Framework 2030 is a regional planning and economic development project launched in 2019 by the Central Mississippi River Regional Planning Partnership group of three cities, four townships and two counties including: Monticello, Big Lake, Becker, Silver Creek Twp. and Wright and Sherburne Counties.

As the group enters “Round 2” of engagement on the Framework 2030 plan, the organizers are encouraging businesses and citizens to provide feedback on the draft vision and strategies. These draft elements grew directly from the input the organizers received from many stakeholders in the first round of engagement earlier this year.

Framework 2030 is expected to create a unified set of regional goals, policies, and priorities that partner communities commit to honoring (it is not a regional comprehensive plan). It is also meant to include guidance developed with partner communities on how they can refine their local approaches, policies, plans, projects, and regulations over time to harmonize them with the regional direction.

The next in-person feedback event is Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. and is hosted by Big Lake City and Twps. It will be held at City Hall Chambers following the scheduled EDA meeting.

Sherburne County is expected to host another feedback event sometime later in November.
