The Becker girls track team had a nice performance last Saturday at the True Team State Tournament, placing 10th as a team.
“We had some great performances at the meet and did well as a team,” Coach Trish Reimer-Kealy said.
Becker senior Kailey Thompson once again broke her school record in the 100 meter hurdles for the third time this year, running an outstanding time of 15.17. She also ran on the second place 4x100 relay team along with Josie Reckelberg, Kali Schendzielos, and Salayna Allen, as the foursome came in with a time of 50.54, which ties their own school record.
Reckelberg also ran the 200 (26.63), the 100 (13.16) and Long Jump (16’1 3/4), while Allen ran the 100 (13.02) and 200 (26.63).
Schendzielos broke the 17 second mark in her 100 hurdles for the first time with 16.92, while Katelyn Brower ran a personal record time in her 800 race (2:29.73).
Brower also ran the 4x800 with Sydnee Bull, Savannah Cunningham and Alyssa Brower. Running the 4x200 was Abby Atwood, Raelee Lyon, Harper Miller, and Kaylyn Rickard (1:53.21). The 4x400 team was Rickard, Atwood, Sylvia Stoeckel and Katelyn Brower (4:20.78).
“We also had a PR performance from Cunningham in the 3200,” Reimer-Kealy said. “She cut her time by 10 seconds for a 12:10.47!”
The field events produced some dependable efforts as well, with Ella Tschida in the shot (33’9), Maggie Graning (30’11 1/2) and Sami Leaders (30’7 3/4) in the triple jump,
“Despite missing some of our regular performers we had other team members step up and compete well in this team event,” Reimer-Kealy said. “We are so proud of those who stepped outside their comfort zones for the best interests of the team.”
