Becker Farmer’s Market Ready For Vendors

The Becker Farmer’s Market is in the process of signing up vendors for the 2014 season, according to Becker Community Center Admin Asst.

Cindy Kazeck.  The market will return to the BCC parking lot again this year every Friday beginning on May 16 and ending on Oct. 17.  Hours are 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. each Friday, except for July 4, when the market will not operate.

Letters have been sent to vendors who have participated in previous years, Kazeck said, and the market is always on the lookout for locally-grown fresh produce and other produced goods.  The goal of the project is to “unite and support local farmers, growers and producers by providing a centrally-located, affordable venue to sell their goods.”  The program also seeks to educate consumers about the benefits of buying fresh, locally-grown produce at reasonable prices that will “promote healthy lifestyles while sustaining local agriculture.”

Vendor applications are available at the BCC, and the vendor fee for the 2014 season will be $50.  Anyone wishing to participate can complete the form and return it to the BCC with the seasonal fee to be signed up for the new season.

The BCC address is 11500 Sherburne Ave, Becker, MN 55308.  For more information, call (763) 200-4271.
