With very few items on the council agenda, the City of Becker briskly covered their Tuesday meeting in short order.
Consent Agenda
City Administrator Greg Pruszinske gave a report on the consent agenda which included the hiring and termination reports for community development, the Becker Community Center, streets and parks and administration.
Jacob Sanders, the city’s planner under community development, had his employment with the city terminated July 5. Deb Deppa, a part-time streets department maintenance worker, terminated her employment July 10 and Joe Danielson, streets supervisor, ended his employment with the city July 20.
Danielson’s mother, Marilyn, the city’s deputy clerk, will end her employment with the city Aug. 17 due to retirement.
Becker promoted Chris Lisson (Lisson was working as the city’s water/wastewater superintendent) to be the new public works and parks assistant director. His first day at his new position was Mon., July 16.
Pruszinske also reported on a change order (#2) for the water-replacement project. A resolution to appoint an alternate election judge was approved and golf course descriptions for groundskeeper, golf attendant, assistant golf course superintendent and golf course superintendent were approved as part of the 2016 compensation study.
Pruszinske also asked for approval from council on the fulltime staffing decision to hire a fulltime professional administrative support person to support the delivery of key services.
Open Forum
The floor was opened for any members from the public to address council during open forum, and Dennis Rzesotarski spoke for around six minutes.
