The Becker Community Center played host recently to the 11th annual Cancer Survivor’s Dinner, once again co-chaired by Fran Seeley and Bev Knutson.

The annual affair celebrates those who have survived the terrible disease, and this year, 84 survivors and their guests were treated to an amazing grill out meal, while each survivor received a bag of goodies and a gift.  

After the meal, a ceremonial balloon release was held to honor family, friends and loved ones who have succumbed to the disease, the second leading cause of death in America.

Each year, volunteers help to serve the meal, pass out the gifts and organize the event.

In addition to Seeley and Knutson, servers included Lonny Seeley, Bud Stimmler, Robin Boros, Mike McDonald, Kay Nelson, Darin Seeley, Kurt and Jodi Schlangen, Barb Ritze, Parker Seeley, Ken Eich, Jon Cox, Derek Rhodes, Jona Jorgenson, Kathy Wolfe, Phil and Bonnie Knutson, Lynn Cox and Abby Krabbenhoft.
