THE BCC GYMNASIUM was plumb full of vendors showcasing their wares for the hundreds of attendees.
ONE VENDOR had a floor full of jumbo and large pillows uniquely made in sports team fabrics as well as cartoon characters and animal prints.

Bcc Craft Sale Kicks Off 2018 Holiday Season

The Becker Community Center held their annual Holiday Craft & Vendor Sale and Christmas Tree lighting ceremony Sunday afternoon.

Dozens of vendors filled the gymnasium, extra rooms and hallways at the BCC, hoping to put on display exactly what frugal holiday shoppers are looking for as gifts for themselves or others.

The craft sale began at 2 p.m. on a cold, wintery-type day in mid-November. Susan Dunbar had a space in the gym where she featured her gorgeous pottery items and some jewelry. Across from her, some vendors manned a Tupperware booth and down from them was Pampered Chef. There were booths selling journals, pens, crocheted items, fleece blankets, outdoor decor and candles.

BCC Administrative Assistant Cindy Kazeck greeted the vendors throughout the building. She had staffers working the front desk and concessions as regular BCC business was conducted during the event.

Just outside the gym, a jewelry booth was kept busy as well as the senior center’s booth featuring baked goods, quilted blankets, bags, stockings and doilies.
Down the hall in one of the rooms, Becker Spine had a space where they gave guests a free nerve scan and gave away free jingle bell necklaces and candy.

Another vendor had hand-made purses, bags and pet items including catnip toys for cats and bandanas for dogs.

Just outside the room and in the hallway, a huge display of hand-made pillows took up half the aisle with jumbo and large pillow designs. Some of the pillows featured sports teams (Vikings, Wild, Twins) while some featured lovable cartoon characters such as Pikachu, Minions and Mickey Mouse.

Norwex, Thirty-One, Young Living and Scentsy were a couple other well-known products being featured at the BCC craft sale.

As the afternoon rolled on, BCC staff and guests joined with BHS students to sing carols as the countdown to the tree lighting neared. At precisely 6 p.m., all attendees were asked to don their hats and mittens and make their way to the parking lot where a brimming evergreen was decorated with lights — ready to be turned on.

The countdown began and as the number reached zero, the tree exploded into color and brightness — all to kick off the 2018 Holiday season!
