Backpack Buddies Fundraiser Well Attended

A large number of area residents turned out for the annual Becker Backpack Buddies fund-raiser at Hunter’s Ridge Sunday.  A total of 230 tickets were sold for the dinner and silent auction, according to organizer Amy Spinner.  The evening also raised funds through cash donations at the site, and a silent auction was held throughout the evening as well.

Volunteers included members of the Becker Girl Scout troop, and youth volunteers from four area churches, Grace Lutheran, Becker Baptist, the Becker Evangelical Free Church and South Santiago Lutheran, Spinner said.

The program provides take-home nutrition to an estimated 275 students in the Becker School District, including weekend take-home packages.
