MERIT SCHOLAR. BHS Senior Cole Anderson was awarded the Congressional Certificate of Merit by U.S. Congresswoman Michele Bachmann at a ceremony in Monticello, MN last Saturday. The award is presented to students who have displayed "academic achievement and exemplary citizenship" during their high school careers. He is the son of Rhonda and Michael Anderson of Becker.

Anderson Is Congressional Merit Scholar

Becker High School senior Cole Anderson was among 13 area students to receive the Congressional Certificate of Merit at a ceremony hosted by U.S. Congresswoman Michele Bachmann last Saturday in Monticello.

The award is presented each year to high school seniors who have demonstrated “academic achievement and exemplary citizenship during their high school career.”  All of the award recipients were nominated by a school faculty member of administrator.  Each participating school may nominate only one student for the award each year.
 
Anderson plans to pursue a degree in engineering upon graduation from BHS, where he has been active in athletics and with the BHS Robotics Team.  He is the son of Rhonda and Michael Anderson of Becker.
