Advanced motorcycle training class coming to St. Cloud

(Editor’s Note: The following article was submitted to the Patriot by David Weeres at MSN).

A new Advanced Rider Class is available in St. Cloud for motorcyclist looking to further enhance their safety skills and the joy of riding.  The class is on Saturday, Aug 13 at St. Cloud Technical and Community College from 9am-5pm.

The class will hone your hazard avoidance riding skills to avoid and navigate dangers such as other drivers, deer and road debris.  Being able to complete a 28-foot U-turn on your motorcycle is a requirement for the course.

You’ll ride your own motorcycle for this course, and motorcycles must be 600cc or larger.

There’s limited enrollment so register now at: https://bit.ly/2YdYJZD.

According to David Weeres, a member of the Minnesota Motorcycle Safety Task Force, “If you want to challenge yourself, and up to being humbled a bit, this is for you . . . but at the end of the day, you will be a better rider, that I know.”  Weeres said, “The plan is to bring this course and the next level Expert course to St. Cloud next year through the St. Cloud Technical & Community College.  These courses have been run for the last decade in the Minneapolis area and we are thrilled to expand this opportunity to area riders.  For 90% of the day, you are on your machine . . . you will finish exhausted and exhilarated!  Really, what is better than spending the day on the bike, and then learning a few things along the way.”
