On Thursday evening of last week, the Benton County 4-H Ambassadors took part in a delightful Valentine’s Night event titled “4-H in Harmony” at the welcoming First Presbyterian Church in Foley.
The air was filled with excitement as members gathered, eager to forge new friendships and deepen existing connections within the 4-H ambassador group.
“I enjoyed spending time with many of the new ambassadors and meeting some for the very first time,” said Mason Arnold, an 11th grader from Foley. “It was a great opportunity to share ideas and get updated on upcoming events.”
Throughout the event, laughter echoed in the hall as participants engaged in a variety of games, including unique challenges involving colorful solo cups.
“I had a blast playing the solo cup flip tic-tac-toe game and loved getting to know people I hadn’t spoken to before,” said Valerie McKay, an 8th grader from St. Cloud.
The evening was filled with warmth and cheer, especially when it came time to feast.
“The event was absolutely awesome,” said Mia Messerli, a new seventh-grade ambassador from Becker. “It was exciting to try out all the new games while connecting with so many new friends, and the food was simply delicious.”
The highlight of the meal was a mouthwatering lasagna accompanied by Caesar salad and garlic bread, lovingly prepared by our dedicated 4-H Volunteer, Brenda Kaschmitter.
“It was a joy to watch everyone having fun, participating actively, and connecting with one another,” said Josi Pozorski, a 12th grader from Foley. “Having a different type of gathering that included a little meeting and planning time while also allowing us to move around a lot made it even more special.”
She went on to talk about the opportunities offered at 4-H.
“It meant so much to me to have another opportunity to learn new things, discover different games and activities, and work together as a team. We are excited to brainstorm fresh ideas for upcoming events, like the lock-in and day camps, to ensure they are memorable for all participants.”
The night was a true celebration of camaraderie and creativity, leaving everyone looking forward to future adventures together!
