The Senior Sherburne County Horse Project 2019 team competed at the 2019 4H Regional Project Bowl March 2 in Foley and came in fifth place.
The high finish allows them a slot at the State Project Bowl April 6 in Sauk Rapids.
Four of the competitors are from the Becker/Big Lake area including, Emma Borgerding, Kami Janssen, Kaitlyn Smith and Ethan Fagen.
The 2019 4H Regional Project Bowl is the second-most attended event all year. Patterned after the golden-oldie television show, College Bowl, 4-H Project Bowls challenge teams of three-to-six youth on their knowledge of the following 4-H areas: dairy, dog, general livestock, horse, lama, poultry, rabbit and wildlife.
There are four regional bowls which lead to the state competition. Each has two divisions — junior (grades 3-8) and senior (grades 4-4-H graduation). Winners at the state level in dairy, general livestock, horse, poultry and wildlife go on to national contests!
