2025  Becker graduate Hall of Fame recipients

Becker High School is proud to announce a pair of former graduates for induction into the school’s graduate Hall of Fame.

Rachel Engen, a 2000 graduate, was her class Valedictorian at BHS as well as a National Merit Scholar.  She went on to study at Northwestern University (Chicago), majoring in Biology and International Studies.  While a member of the Chi Omega sorority, she graduated magna cum laude and continued her education at Washington University (St. Louis) and then did her pediatric residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.  

Rachel’s work experience has included: staff physician at Boston Children’s Hospital, completing her Pediatric Nephrology Fellowship in Seattle, and serving at Northwestern University as an Assistant Professor in Pediatric Nephrology.  

Rachel moved to Madison in 2021 to become the Medical Director of the Pediatric Kidney Transplantation for the University of Wisconsin and was promoted to Assistant Professor.  Rachel serves as the chair of the Pediatric Transplantation Committee for the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network.  Rachel is an avid runner, hiker, traveler, and volunteers with the Madison Ballet. 

Mike Hart is a 1966 graduate who joined the U.S. Air Force before earning a four year degree in Business Management.  Mike served eleven years as a union electrician, spent twenty five years as Maintenance Superintendent at Pittsburgh Corning, and has followed his passion as the owner of Mikart Classic Cars for twenty five years.  

Mike also shared his expertise as an instructor for twenty years for Industrial Electronics at State Fair Community College.  

Mike’s involvement in organizations is extensive, including:  Chairman of the Pittsburgh Corning Credit Union, Military Affairs Committee for Sedalia Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors for Sedalia Industrial Committee, and member of the West Central Missouri Vintage Car Club.  

Mike has been a youth basketball and soccer official and lent his electrical skills to refurbishment of a house for abused children.  Residing in Sedalia, Missouri, Mike has been married over fifty years and has two children and four grandchildren.  

Both alumni will be honored at this year’s graduation ceremony.
