The Board Chair opened the County Board Workshop Meeting.               

Results and Recommendations from the Human Resources Department Organizational Study. Human Resources

Gary Weiers, DDA Human Resources, Inc. & Tammy Bigelow, HR Director

Gary Weirs of DDA Human Resources, Inc. provided a brief presentation to consider the results and recommendations from the recently-completed Human Resources Department Organizational Study. HR Director Tammy Bigelow also highlighted areas in their department that needed more focus and attention, leveraging technology, staffing ratios and budget. Guidance and feedback were provided from the Board and will return on a future Board meeting agenda.

Sheriff's Department Update. Sheriff

Joel Brott, County Sheriff

Sheriff Joel Brott and other Sheriff's Department staff provided the Board with a staff update. Captain Bob Stangler presented on the Total Calls for Service for 2020 and K9 Unit. Captain Ben Zawacki presented an update on Patrol & Criminal Investigation Division's notable cases and Drug Task Force updates. Captain Dan Andren presented an update on Transport/Court Security update and how their unit has adapted to COVID protocols. Office Manager Danielle Gessell presented an update on gun permits and transcriptions. Chief Deputy Sheriff Steve Doran presented an update on Reserves & Mounted Patrol, Crisis intervention C0REsponse Initiative, and Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CAKEA) Accreditation. Jail Administrator Brian Frank presented an update on CARES Act Projects within the jail facility. Jail Commander Pat Carr presented an update on body worn cameras to be worn by jail staff, American Correctional Association (ACA) Re-Accreditation and National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) Accreditation Jail Program Coordinator Mark Fritel presented an update on Family and Caregiver External Support (FACES), also known as the Second Chance Act. Investigator Sergeant Matt Mork presented an update on the Sheriff's office Wellness Committee and the Cordico Wellness App.  Project Coordinator Alicia Maxwell presented an update on the Substance Use Prevention Coalition (SUP).

Park Department Update. Public Works

Gina Hugo, Park Coordinator

Parks Coordinator Gina Hugo provided an update on the activities, programs, and projects of the Parks Department covering 2020 highlights, 2021 embarkments, and the building of a trail map.
