SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE 2024-04

FLOODPLAIN ORDINANCE

The City Council of the City of Clearwater, Minnesota, Counties of Wright and Stearns, adopted a revised floodplain ordinance at the City Council meeting held on May 13, 2024.  The ordinance was based off the Minnesota DNR model floodplain ordinance, to satisfy the state and federal standards detailed in Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 103F; Minnesota Rules, parts 6120.5000 – 6120.6200; the rules and regulations of the National Flood Insurance Program in 44 CFR 59 to 78. The ordinance provides the general regulations for development in floodplains, as well as procedures guiding administrative responsibilities. 

A complete copy of the Ordinance is available for inspection at the City Office, 605 County Road 75, Clearwater MN 55320, during office hours of Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on the City’s website at www.clearwatercity.com.
