ORDINANCE NO. 2022-10
AMENDING PART I, CHAPTER 34, ARTICLE III – SECTION 34-66, PARKING AFTER SNOWFALL
OF THE CLEARWATER CITY CODE
THE CITY OF CLEARWATER HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
City Code Section 34-66, Parking After Snowfall, is hereby amended as follows:
(a) After a snowfall of at least two inches or a wet slushy snowfall of any amount, it is a petty misdemeanor for any person to fail to remove a motor vehicle or parts thereof from any street or alley until the snowplowing on the street or alley is completed.
(b) Following any snowfall between the dates of November 1st of each year to April 1st of the year next following, it shall be unlawful to park or leave standing any vehicle or part thereof on any city street or alleyway from 2:00 a.m. until such time as snow plowing curb-to-curb has been completed on such street or alleyway. (move remainder to NEW section (d))
(c) This parking prohibition includes parking vehicles or part thereof on the street, alley, or right-of-way, whether improved with curb, gutter and pavement or not improved.
(d) All vehicles or parts thereof found in violation of this Section 34-66 may be towed at the owner's expense at the direction of the public works supervisor or designee, or any peace officer. Any vehicles towed under this provision shall follow the procedures outlined in Section 34-62.
Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage and summary publication, which is hereby authorized by the City Council.
