City Of Becker Notice Of Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that the Becker Planning Commission will hold their monthly meeting at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2015 at the Becker City Hall, 12060 Sherburne Avenue.  The Planning Commission will hold the following public hearing at this meeting:   
6:00 p.m.: Chapter 11, Land Use Regulations Amendment, Section 11.03, Subd. 1. Non-Conforming Uses.  A public hearing is being held to hear comments related to a proposed amendment to allow for the expansion of legal non-conformities.  Space Shuttle Self Storage, Sandy and Harold Cox, owners and applicants have requested an amendment to the Land Use Regulations (Zoning) to allow uses that are existing but currently not permitted within the district they are located to expand.  The request is being made to accommodate expansion of garage storage facilities within a Community Commercial District located at 12562 Birch Avenue SE, Becker MN.  The City’s Zoning Regulations currently does not allow garage storage facilities as a principal use in a Community Commercial District. Garage storage facilities as a principal use are allowed within the Industrial District.  The existing garage storage facility may continue but not expand.
