Recently Republicans Andrew Matthews and Jim Newberger voted to cut about $463 million from MN Health and Human Services. This vote cuts access to health care for over 1 million Minnesotan’s. Almost 15,000 of them are from Sherburne County, including 13,830 children and adults with disabilities and seniors on Medicaid and 1051 people who will lose MinnesotaCare.
Citizens from other parts of SD15, which also includes Mille Lacs and parts of Benton, Wright, and Morrison Counties will be similarly affected.
At the same time that they so cruelly turn their backs on their constituents. Rep. Newberger and Sen. Matthews will continue to enjoy health care that costs them a mere $209.20 a month with access to any doctor in the state. Oh and they get dental care. The average Minnesotan on the other hand pays $1186/ month for a family plan, not counting high deductibles and co-pays.
Mind you, Newberger and Matthews get this Cadillac health care plan because we elected them. And what is it we get in return? They eat steak while we get scraps.
This is an outrage. Please hold them accountable for their actions.
