To The Editor

In the article that I submitted earlier to the paper, one of the ways that I suggested for viewing the eclipse was to use welding goggles. Please be aware that there is an exception.  If you can see anything else when you look through them, then they are not blocking out enough of the sun's light and you will suffer damage to your eyes. Not all welding goggles are the same in strength! Also you may have heard that there are people out there that are selling eclipse glasses that are not safe to use. If you do purchase a pair, test them by looking through them at objects around you.  If you are able to see any shapes or shadows of objects, they are not safe to use.
