To The Editor

Mr. Morgan, Kneeling before the flag is neither disgusting nor disrespectful. Kneeling is, and always has been a mark of respect and honor. We kneel at church in obedience to a higher being.

Some countries kneel to honor a monarch. Slaves kneel in servitude. Soldiers kneel beside a wounded buddy to comfort them. Kneeling before the flag cannot be construed as disobedience. Team members and owners simply linked arms in solidarity. No show of offensive behavior, just quietly united.

I wonder how many fans stood for the anthem. How many stopped drinking beer for a few minutes. How many watching the games on TV even paid attention.

Look around and see the many ways the flag is disrespected. Flag displayed horizontally, not vertically. Flags left flying in the rain. Flags decorating hats, shirts, even swim suits. Pets parading wrapped in the flag. Did you protest? No? Talk about hypocrisy.

I too have family members who fought in WW II, Korea, Vietnam and other places who agree with me. We are the silent ones, who don't make speeches or post proclamations on facebook. For your information, the Supreme Court has previously ruled that it is unlawful to fire anyone for their lawful freedom of speech.

Personally, I will kneel in prayer for our country, we are in need of Divine help.
