I‘ve never written the Citizen before, but can’t resist anymore after this fall sports season. The coverage of Becker sports has been far below what we’ve come to anticipate from your paper. The recent article last week covering the final Becker girls varsity soccer game  lead me to wonder if the reporter was even at the game, although I was told he was.

 

The fame was against Maranatha Christian Academy, not Monticello as reported. The Becker girls outshot the oppenent 12-1 in the second half, not “finally tried to get a goal” as the article stated.

 

The team finished the season with a player, Lauren Sticha, having broken two state records for assists, one in a single season as well as an all-tie career record. They also had the largest points for versus against spread of any team in the state this year. Disappointing coverage for such a successful season. I hope you are able to improve.
