As a regular player at the Pebble Creek Golf Club who lives in St. Cloud, I thought I would comment on how lucky I think you folks in Becker are to have such a great facility in your town. Pebble Creek is one of the best golf courses in Minnesota and should be a source of pride for all the citizens of Becker, whether you play golf or not. Additionally, the course brings in a great deal of outside revenue to the local businesses when (like the recent State High School Golf Tournament, held last month) the course brought in thousands in food, beverage and motel revenue from the visiting contestants and their families and friends. It took a great deal of foresight and courage to initially invest the capital to build this wonderful facility. While it’s been a tough economy these last few years, time will prove it to have been a very smart decision in the long run. While Becker is known for it’s outstanding State Champion Football team and great coach, Dwight Lundeen. It is also known statewide as the home of a great golf course at Becker, Minnesota. I hope the taxpayers and local politicians will recognize what a great asset Pebble Creek if for the City of Becker and continue to support it in the future.
