As we prepare to leave the area, we want to thank you. In 1989, I and later Marty found work in Becker which encouraged us to build a home in Santiago Township. Our son, Joshua, began attending Becker Schools where through positive peer pressure, he played trumpet and basketball. Boy Scouts, Science Club, Odyssey of the Mind and other activities developed his leadership skills that serve him well.

 

I stayed in touch with many talanted youth encouraging them to apply for Dollars for Scholars as seniors and while in college. Thank you to the businesses and individuals generously assisted Dollars for Scholars as well as our efforts to improve habitat for deer, ducks, and the Sherburne County Wildlife Refuge.

 

The Becker Lions Club with so much community support has been a dynamic outlet for meeting people and helping the community.

 

Thanks to Bailey Rays for giving us a Chicago type neighborhood bar where we always felt welcome. We were proud to tell people we lived a stone’s throw away when they asked where we lived. 

 

Thanks for all who supported my political campaigns. While I never won, I did find my opponents incorporating some of my ideas as their own as the debates developed.

 

We have been grateful for the variety of jobs we have had in Becker over the years. Thank you to the industrious, caring people we have worked with and for.

 

Becker is a city of opportunity with a great mayor.
