I am curious that there have not been any letters printed on the upcoming school referendum. As a school board member we are always looking for feedback. Over the last severeal years, we have worked hard to earn the trust of our community by making cuts and balancing the operational budget and asking for investment (bonds) in the appropriate way to ensure school facilities are kept in good order.

 

However, due to the reduction of our revenue implemented during the Ventura administration and the excessive spending by prior boards, we are looking at significant program cuts in the coming years.

 

The first question will prevent program cuts allows us to ensure we are solvent for as far out as we are able to plan. The second question will allow us to restore some programs recently cut (feedback on which programs to restore is sought). The final question allows us to upgrade our facilities to meet requirements for athletics and maintain our facilities according to our 10-year-plan. I know we will continue to be vigilant in protecting your money to provide the most value to our community.
