To The Editor

Last week the city council met. There was information brought to the coucil meeting for some of the new expenses at the golf course.

I agree that the staining of the building exteriors is needed to preserve the condition of the wood. It might be required of the company doing the work, to pre-order and place a deposit of their own for such a large order.

Also on the golf course agenda was the rental of the golf cars that people rent to rise the course. Buying instead of renting would be more profitable over long term. Even after degreciation, we would still have possession of the cars which we could resell when new cars are needed.

Earlier in the year, a proposal was brought forth to re-store the golf course club house to the tune of $7 million over the next five years. The property is not valued high enough to make this logical.

If the golf course were profitable, couldn’t we apply the profits to other city needs like the schools, fire or police department, which support the well-being of the ntire city populace?

Please be mindful of how your tax money is spent.
