To The Editor

With all of the national media giving attention to the water crisis in Flint Michigan, and the importance of a city government providing clean, sanitary drinking water for its residents, I wonder how a city council member could ask what the difference is between Becker's Water and Sewer Fund operating at a loss compared to another Pebble Creek financial loss (-$240,000 or -$440,000 including depreciation for 2015) as discussed in the city council meeting on 2/16.

Which is more important to you: a city funded facility operating at a loss providing our homes with essential clean drinking water and waste water disposal, or a city funded golf course operating at a loss to create an ideal but artificial environment that is not necessary to the personal health and well-being of families within the entire community of Becker?

Government utilizing public money in the interest of public safety is totally different than using public money to rescue itself for questionable or bad business decisions.
