I am writing to express my concern for the firing of a recess monitor at Becker School District. This individual is a very Christian person and had been called on the carpet numerous times during the previous school years. The individual who was fired has various Post-it notes in their cubicle stating beliefs in God.

 

Those in authority tried their best to intimidate this individual and have finally succeeded in the firing!

 

The employee was told certain parents had called in and expresses their concern that their children were being treated harshly. This seems counter to what was really happening. It seems the children would beg this person to ‘advance’ to the next playground with them for the next school year as they injoyed this individuals monitoring them. It would be wonderful if some of the ‘supposed’ parents who were calling and asking for the firing would call the school and protest the firing. It would be interesting to know whether this posision was already posted or filled, before the firing happened.

 

It seems to me this firing was done solely on the Christian principals this person displayed. God is being taken out of our schools and then people wonder why all the violence and “where was God when this happened?” I am sorry to say it is our own fault for not standing up for our Christian values and for what is occurring in our society.

 

I am extremely disappointed with the Becker School District but am deeply concerned as this is happening all over.
