The United States’ support for Israel has never been more important. The horror that was unleashed by Hamas terrorists on October 7th serves as a stark reminder of the evil that still exists in the world.
Young children are being beheaded, families are being slaughtered in their homes, and women are being kidnapped – simply for being Jewish.
It is not just Israelis who have been victims of Hamas’ violence either, at least 30 Americans are among the more than 1,400 people killed in the brutal attacks, including multiple Minnesotans.
The lack of transparency and action coming from the Biden Administration is unacceptable. Our office has received little to no guidance from the Biden Administration as our constituents attempt to flee the war-torn region.
We will not stand by and wait. Last week, we led the Minnesota Republican delegation in a letter demanding answers from the Biden Administration regarding their plans to locate and evacuate Americans stranded in Israel safely and efficiently.
Additionally, the House of Representatives is preparing a resolution in support of Israel that has garnered massive bipartisan support. The resolution has over 400 co-sponsors, something nearly unheard of in a fractured Washington.
Moving forward, Congress must take decisive action to give the Israeli people the resources they need to defend themselves and to end Hamas once and for all.
Our prayers are with the thousands of innocent people who have been victimized by these heinous acts of violence. We will not forget them. While our hearts break for the people of Israel, our resolve remains stronger than ever. Today and always, the United States unapologetically stands with Israel.
