Mekeland Matches High Score

I am proud to have matched the highest score on the Legislative Evaluation Assembly of Minnesota’s 2021 scorecard and was one of select few legislators to recently earn “honoree” distinction.

The LEA reports it rated the votes of all 201 legislators on 16 selected bills. Omnibus bills on taxes, agriculture, education, energy, health and human services, and housing were included, the LEA said, along with others addressing the governor’s emergency powers, voter ID, energy policy and price gouging.

I was one of four legislators atop the LEA ratings with a score of 92.

The people of our area sent me to the Capitol to represent their best wishes and this recognition is a testament to the work we have done together in District 15B. This is an honor that will only further my inspiration to continue voting for the best interests of my constituents.

The full report can be downloaded from the LEA website at http://lea-mn.org. The LEA indicates it is a non-partisan and non-profit organization, established to inform the citizens of Minnesota of both important legislation and the voting performance of each Minnesota state legislator.
