Letters To The Editor

TO THE EDITOR:

Your front page article in the Jan. 12 issue, Security is a top priority at area schools, especially caught my eye in light of the security situation at our borders.

Maybe all of those you referenced in the school system, that are expressing concern, ought to be in Washington so they could get the similar job done in Washington and on the border.

Those who implemented these school safety measures are doing so for the betterment of all—the children and teaching staff plus all the family members, relatives and friends at home—who have entrusted their children to the school superintendent and staff members.

They are not just protecting, at the door of the classroom or inner walls, no, they are focusing at the perimeter, its border, before any entry within the complex.

The very same thing holds true for the institution of our sovereign nation.  Just think of the alternative to having at the school entry door, the staff instead implement security at the classroom door.  But then to add further protection to the classroom door the administration was forced to add to the facility the hiring of several dozen police and guards to detain any “threats” that made their way into the building.
